iRest Level 1 Training with Karen Soltes

Coming to Boise February 21st-26th, 2017

by Karen SoltesMy initial motivation to pursue various forms of meditation starting in my late teens was the desire to find more ease in my life. And more honestly, there was the hope to escape the feelings of anxiety, depression, and self-criticism that seemed to pervade my life. Countless efforts to escape these feelings only failed.
Through practicing iRest® I have learned to meet these challenging feelings with a sense of openness and tenderness. In doing so, they become a doorway to Ease rather than the obstacle. By meeting allowing and welcoming, I can also turn towards a sense of well being and an underlying feeling of ease that is available at any time, even in the midst of the myriad of challenges and experiences that life might bring. I find that taking the time throughout the day to pause and feel into the underlying ground of Being brings me back home to the feeling of Ease. Not unlike Dorothy discovers in the Wizard of Oz,Ease has been there all along. As I meet what is present with a sense of openness, kindness and sincere tenderness, I know that my Ruby Red Slippers have never left my feet! With Love,
